Hannah Lamb has over twelve years experience of teaching textiles, design and craft, both in Higher Education and delivering workshops in less formal, community settings. Enjoying working with people with different skills, backgrounds and experiences, Hannah’s teaching style aims to nurture, develop and draw out creative inquisitiveness.

Hand Stitch Sampler Weekend (NEW)
If you have always wanted to have the time to explore your hand embroidery - this is the workshop for you. We will explore a wide variety of decorative stitches, create composite stitches, learn how to improvise your own ideas and experiment with scale and threads. You will take away your own ongoing stitch sampler. No previous experience is needed.

Patching & Place (NEW)
In this two-day workshop we will explore the relevance of cloth to place. Using cyanotype printing, found ephemera and patchwork techniques we will explore Saltaire’s cloth-making heritage to create a small mixed-media textile piece, which could be a finished artwork or the beginnings of a larger project.

Text & Textiles
From monogrammed linens to samplers, text and stitch have a strong association. Using a selection of hand embroidery techniques you will create a contemporary sampler of different styles of stitched text. No previous experience of embroidery is required.

Inspiration from Historical Textiles
During this two day workshop cyanotype blueprints on textile will be combined with hand embroidery to create individual prints. Be inspired by some of Hannah’s collection of antique garments and textiles or bring along your own treasured items to spark creativity. By the end of the workshop you will take away an embellished art print.

Cyanotype Essentials
Learn the complete process of making cyanotype prints, from mixing chemicals and preparing substrates to creating beautiful blueprints. You will take home a collection of sample prints on a variety of materials including paper and textile. This course includes all the basic techniques needed to get started on your own project.

Repair & Disrepair
In this workshop we will explore decorative (not necessarily practical!) methods to distress and mend textiles for your art projects. Techniques include devoré, surface darning and patching. You will take away a selection of experimental sample pieces.
